Strategy meets storytelling. Data meets design. We are The Left & Right – the two sides of culture and brand.

Who We Are

DAVE YANCHO

Dave is the maestro of company culture—and the guy who somehow made rust prevention exciting. Over 25 years, he took Armor Protective Packaging from sales to CEO, proving that the right systems and focus on culture can turn good companies into great ones. After selling a portion of the business, he launched Left & Right Consulting to help others build brands that stick and cultures that click .

Under his leadership, ARMOR earned Crain’s Cool Places to Work (7x), Inc. Mag’s Fastest Growing Companies (2x) and Forbes Small Giants (2020). Before that, he engineered some things for a few small companies you might have heard of: Johnson & Johnson, 3M, and FedEx. Show off!

These days, you can find Dave playing keys in The Traveling Yanchos (a band he formed with his son) around Howell, MI, where he calls home. He has three kids, two dogs, and a basement packed floor-to-ceiling with MSU Spartan and Detroit Tigers nostalgia.

An unapologetic antique junkie with a soft spot for anything with a story (and a little rust). He’s a Willy’s Jeep aficionado and is an avid world traveler. Dave is infamous for taking everything to “11” and is a self-proclaimed Steely Dan addict.

BOB PATTEN

Bob create brands people remember. Sometimes it’s creating a new logo or spearheading a re-brand. Sometimes it’s in the copy he writes. Sometimes it’s creating a cool workplace. Some-times it’s art directing a photo or video shoot. Sometimes it’s about finding “nice words” to tell a company their current brand is on life support. Sometimes it’s telling Dave to take it down a notch. Sometimes, it’s all of those at once.

For the last 30 years Bob has been freelancing his way through Michigan and beyond, churning out bold & award-winning designs proving to his clients what a hidden gem they have in him. From his first client Dave (Waymire) w/ Marketing Resource Group to his 25 year stint with Dave (Yancho) at ARMOR, he continues to knock out agency quality work to this day.

These days, you’ll find Bob at his Grand Ledge studio/home chock-full of projects that are “almost done.” He has four kids, one-daughter-in-law, two cats, one dog and one wife of over 30 years and is a loyal & hopeless Raiders fan.

He enjoys nothing more than a Miller High Life on Lake Michigan or a Pacifico on any shore in Mexico with family listening to tunes on his trusted Turtle Box (gifted to him by his LEFT side).
